This 1968 Pontiac Firebird was the subject of a 2017 Pro Touring-style build by Modern Muscle in Plainfield, Illinois

Work performed by Modern Muscle included the installation of a supercharged 540ci V8, an FTI Performance TH400 automatic transmission, a Moser Engineering 12-bolt rear end, power steering, a Hydratech hydraulic brake assist unit, a MagnaFlow exhaust, Cragar wheels with Mickey Thompson tires, a Ridetech four-link coilover suspension, a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, AutoMeter instrumentation, and Procar Rally XL front seats.

Suspension and steering components installed in 2017 include a Ridetech bolt-on four-link system and coilover suspension, along with a Billet Specialties power steering conversion kit.

The interior is upholstered in black and was reportedly refurbished by a previous owner. Modern Muscle installed Procar Rally XL seats, a B&M shifter, and a Vintage Air air-conditioning system.

AutoMeter instrumentation is housed in a Dakota Instruments bezel and consists of a Prestige Black Diamond combination tachometer/speedometer and Quad Gauge with readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. Auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, voltage, and transmission fluid temperature are housed in the center console.

The 540ci V8 was installed by Modern Muscle in 2017 and features a ProCharger supercharger, a Dart Big M Sportsman block, an Air Flow Research cylinder head, ARP head studs, a Callies Performance rotating assembly, a Moroso oil pump, COMP Cams roller rockers, Manley pushrods, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an MSD Performance ignition system, and ceramic-coated Doug’s headers. Power is routed to the rear wheels through an FTI Performance TH400 automatic transmission equipped with an FTI SST torque converter.
