This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible is finished in Crocus Yellow over black vinyl and is powered by a 396ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top with a matching boot, power steering, bucket seats, a console shifter, a Delco push-button radio, and 15″ American Racing wheels. A repaint and engine replacement were reportedly carried out during previous ownership (2017 – 2025 )

The body was refinished in Crocus Yellow under previous ownership and features a black soft top with a matching boot. Additional details include chrome bumpers and “Super Sport” badging. The cabin is upholstered in black vinyl and features front bucket seats. Equipment includes a white roof, power steering, power-assisted brakes, 15″ chrome wire wheels, power windows, cruise control, a push-button AM radio, and air conditioning.

Exterior details include a white roof, quad headlights, dual side mirrors, a power antenna, and tail fins with integrated taillights as well as chrome bumpers, window surrounds, and trim.

Power steering was standard, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums at each corner.

The cabin houses bench seating upholstered in beige leather with black patterned cloth inserts along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Interior equipment includes power windows, cruise control, a push-button AM radio, Cadillac-branded floor mats, and air conditioning. The power-adjustable front seat does not work.

The 390ci V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 325 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque when new. The battery was replaced in October 2024.

Refurbished in 2020, Work consisted of repainting the body and removable top, retrimming the interior, replacing exterior and interior trim components, servicing the air conditioning system, fitting a Mile Marker part-time four-wheel drive kit, and overhauling the engine, transmission, and transfer case. Power is provided by a 350ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case and the truck is finished in Medium Lime over Saddle vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a white removable hardtop, a receiver hitch, 15″ Rally wheels, manually locking front hubs, power steering, an AM/FM stereo, and air conditioning.

The truck was repainted in Medium Lime in 2021 and fitted with a white removable fiberglass hardtop with sliding side windows. Details include High Sierra badging, a receiver hitch, a brushed stainless steel tail panel, bodyside moldings, and chrome bumpers. Scuffs are present on the removable hardtop’s sliding side windows.

 

Mechanical modifications including installation of the 350ci V8 were completed by the previous owner back in 1999.

The body is finished in Dark Cherry Metallic over brown leather upholstery, and equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, a wood bed floor, body-colored running boards, dual chrome side mirrors, and 15″ Weld Racing Rodlite wheels in addition to a Lokar floor shifter, shoulder belts, and power windows.

The previous owner reports that the truck was painted in GM Dark Cherry Metallic in 1999 and features white pinstriping, body-color running boards, a chrome front grille, and dual chrome side mirrors as well as a wood bed floor with bright runners and a polished fuel-filler cap. Scratches and cracks in the paint are noted.

Exterior features include stacked headlights, a hood scoop, dual exhaust tips, and GTO badging. Paint chips and blemishes are noted in the gallery below.Aftermarket 14″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and Hurst-branded center caps along with BFGoodrich tires that were mounted in preparation for the sale. Braking is provided by four-wheel drums. This 1969 Mercury Cougar is one of 67 XR-7 convertible examples equipped with a 351ci Windsor V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission for the model year and was further specified with the 351 Performance Group, a Traction-Lok differential, power steering, and power-assisted front disc brakes. The car has been repainted orange with a contrasting hood graphic and features concealed headlights in addition to a power-operated convertible top. Inside, the white leather–trimmed front bucket seats are accompanied by woodgrain trim as well as a Mr. Gasket shifter, an Americana AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows.

Reproduction 14″ styled-steel wheels wrapped with 225/70 Cooper Cobra tires were added in July 2024. The car was specified from the factory with power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes, while the 351 Performance Group added stiffer springs, heavy-duty shocks, and a larger front stabilizer bar.

Work consisted of refinishing the body, reupholstering the interior, re-wiring the truck, and installing a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 linked with a four-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. The truck is finished in green and white over distressed brown leather upholstery and features include Vintage Air climate control, a retro-style digital stereo, Dakota Digital instrumentation, a lowered suspension, power steering, CPP four-wheel disc brakes, 20″ Showwheels Streeter wheels, tubular exhaust headers, and a dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers

 

The 20″ Showwheels Streeter wheels are mounted with Nitto NT555 tires measuring 245/40 up front and 275/40 out back. The truck has been fitted with a lowered suspension and power-assisted steering. Braking is handled by power-assisted CPP calipers over drilled and slotted rotors.
